I've been a poor blogger of late. I haven't been sleeping well the past couple of weeks (I never seem to get to the REM stage), which has left me very foggy-headed. This has not done much for many areas of my life. Plus, my couch potato side has been a little excited by its favorite shows (and new ones to explore!) returning, which hasn't helped my thinking side come up with anything creative either. (Veronica Mars, the show I'm most excited about returning starts this Wednesday. I've cleared the schedule and have demanded that my roommate be home that night. It's no fun to be excited and by yourself.)
So, basically, I'm making a lot of excuses. Such is life. But I've got some things brewing in my head. I went to another of my friend Sharon's book parties and rubbed elbows with a bunch of interesting women and met Janis Kearney, the author of the book we were celebrating, Cotton Field of Dreams. I'm not done with the book yet, though, and plan on writing some things about that when I'm done. (She's fascinating, though, one of 19 children, daughter of sharecroppers, all of her siblings went to college and she was Pres. Clinton's personal diarist.)
Plus this weekend is the Renegade Craft Fair, just a hop and a skip (no jump needed) from my house, and my friend Shana has her first booth. I'm excited to see all of the crafty goodness that will be on display and for sale.
I also have plans to see the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit at the Art Institute with my friend Anne. I promise to keep my blog up better. (I feel that if I write this here, I will hold myself to it better. Please consider yourself my witness and let me know if I fail to follow up properly.)
